THURSDAY, Nov. 2

• Great Bend Chamber Coffee – 9 a.m., with program at 9:30, sponsored by Central Kansas Partnership. It will be held at the bicycle campground shelter behind Central Baptist Church., 3301 Lakin Ave. (Lakin and Harrison). Program will move indoors if the weather is inclement.


• Hoisington Chamber Coffee – 9:30 a.m. hosted by USD 431 at the district office, 165 W. Third St., Hoisington.


• Crochet Club – 4-6 p.m. at the Hoisington Public Library, 169 S. Walnut. Learn how to crochet or receive assistance with an existing project.


• Fort Larned USD 495 Board of Education candidates forum – 5-7 p.m. at Jordaan Public Library, 724 Broadway in Larned. The event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Fort Larned Teachers Association.


• BCC Student Music Recital – 5 p.m. at the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel. Instrumental and vocal performances by students of the Barton Music Department. Free event.


• United Way of Central Kansas Poverty Simulation – 6-8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 2123 Forest Ave.


• Great Bend USD 428 Education Foundation Dinner and Auction – 6 p.m. at the Great Bend Events Center. Taste of Great Bend dining stations open at 6:30 p.m., live auction at 8. The evening also includes entertainment by the GBHS Jazz Band and support for a good cause. Tickets are $55 and will be available at the door.


FRIDAY, Nov. 3

• Fridays Fall Story Hour – 4 p.m. at the Hoisington Public Library, 169 S. Walnut. Enjoy some books and crafts.


• Musical Bingo – 6-10 p.m. at the Great Bend VFW Post 3111, 504 South Washington St. The is a fundraiser for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Tickets are available at https://musicalbingogreatbend.eventbrite.com/ and at the door.


SATURDAY, Nov. 4

• Golden Belt Humane Society/Adopt a Pet – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bomgaars, 5320 10th St.


• BCC Theatre Spring Production Auditions – 2 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Barton Community College. Auditions will be held for the spring play “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” All roles and technical positions will be cast. Those auditioning do not need to prepare anything but will need to plan on dancing as part of the audition process. Contact: Dan Williams, 620-792-9205.


• Golden Belt Community Concert Association presents Jason Lyle Black – 7 p.m. at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium. Season ticket holders only.

• Senior Day – 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Barton Community College. Barton will help area high school seniors plan for their futures and will feature campus tours, advising and admissions information, and housing and student life information; $6,000 in scholarships will be raffled. • Babies & Little Tykes Day Out – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Great Bend Auditorium. Families in Barton, Rush, Pawnee and Stafford Counties are invited to free family fun for children from birth to 3 years old. Find community resources and enjoy the Imagination Playground, learning activities, games and prizes.


• HireWorks Networking/Job Fair & Business Expo – Panel discussion & networking from 2-7 p.m. at the Great Bend Events Center; Job fair and business expo from 4-7 p.m.

• Instrumental Combined Concert – 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Barton Community College. This will be the second exchange concert featuring the Prairie Winds concert band with the Sterling College Band. Barton Jazz Ensemble will also perform.
