Larry and Earlene Arnold

Larry and Earlene Arnold will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Sept. 9, 2022.

Larry grew up in Sanford and Earlene grew up in rural Rozel, just miles apart. Larry and Earlene were married in the First Christian Church in Larned. They have lived in Kinsley, Larned and moved to Great Bend in 1965. Larry retired from Central Detroit Diesel as a diesel mechanic. Earlene retired from RN and a school paraprofessional for the Great Bend School District.  Earlene is a quilter for the Quilts of Valor and Larry is her driver to all the quilt shops.

Their children and grandchildren include a son, Scott Arnold and Terry Huffman of Kansas City Mo., and daughter, Jolene and Phil Kirmer of Great Bend; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Kylene and Ken Baxa, Kenzie, Aubrie and Benjamin of Salina; Kevin and Dava Kirmer, Amelia and Masen VanSteenburgh and Atlee Kirmer of Great Bend; and Kelli Jo Kirmer of Wichita.

Marathon runner Tracy returns with presentation 'Keep Kids Safe Online'

Leading online safety speaker and marathon runner Ben Tracy will present “Keep Kids Safe Online” in two online presentations on Sunday, April 13, at Heartland Community Church in Great Bend. There will be a presentation for parents at 2 p.m. and one for students at 6:15 p.m. Tracy recently completed a run across America that included a stop at Holy Family School last October.
