Riley Brungardt has joined the Great Bend Tribune’s staff as a general assignment reporter.
“I’m a local from Hoisington, Kansas, and have recently returned home after my college experience,” Brungardt said. “I graduated from Hoisington High School in 2019 and dedicated the prior four years to academics, athletics, and various clubs. After high school, I went to Fort Hays State University where I was a member of the college’s dance team known as the Tiger Debs. This past December I graduated from Fort Hays State with a bachelor’s degree in English and obtained employment here at the Great Bend Tribune.”
News Editor Susan Thacker said Brungardt will be covering local news including writing feature stories about the people and events going on in the Golden Belt. She will also assist in social media posts.
“We are pleased to have another writer on our news team,” she said. “Although this will be Riley’s first job at a newspaper we are excited to have her with us. Being a ‘local’ who is familiar with the area is a plus.”
“We look forward to her contributions to the paper,” said Managing Editor Dale Hogg. “This may be her first reporter’s gig, but Riley has already made an impact in the newsroom.”
