Paid job training program helps mature workers

HAYS — The Senior Community Service Employment Program, a job training program for mature workers that is funded through the Department of Labor and managed by SER Jobs for Progress National, is seeking new applicants.
Successful applicants will be 55 years or older, unemployed, low-income and in need of job training in order to get back to work. This program places enrolled participants at non-profit and government host agencies for part-time, paid job training. The Hays region covers 27 counties in north-west and north-central Kansas, including Barton County. For more information, contact Case Manager Ginny Prickett at 785-623-4006.
