LARNED — The Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility announced its Outstanding Employees of the Second Quarter for 2021: Uniformed Employee of the Quarter, Marcus Chancellor, Corrections Officer I; Non-Uniformed Employee, John Pritchett, Corrections Counselor I; and Contract Employee, Jeanne Young, RN.
Chancellor began his career with LCMHF in 2019 as a Corrections Officer I. His nomination reads, “Chancellor has grown a lot from when he began his career at LCMHF. He works his hardest to complete anything at hand.” Staff enjoy working with Chancellor and appreciate the wealth of knowledge he shares. Chancellor exemplifies the word teamwork and LCMHF is very fortunate to have a staff member that works as hard as he does.
Corrections Counselor I Pritchett began his career with LCMHF in 2011. He left in 2012, but returned in 2015 as a Corrections Counselor I before being promoted in 2017 as a Corrections Supervisor I. He then transferred to the Larned State Hospital in 2018 and returned to LCMHF in 2020.
His nomination reads, “Pritchett can work with anyone and every type of population. His instant rapport with this population is very commendable. His interaction with staff is amazing; he has a very open door and staff are more than welcome to come in and bounce ideas off him or just vent. His dedication to not only the facility, but to the community is admirable.” Pritchett is an asset to both LCMHF and the Kansas Department of Corrections.
Jeanne Young began working with LCMHF’s health-care provider in July of 2009 as a RN. Her nomination reads, “Nurse Young is a staple of the nursing team. She knows the policy and procedures inside and out, enforces structure and posted schedules. Helping new staff with her personally kept notebooks full of information can always be counted on. Nursing, Security, and residents are lucky to have Ms. Young staffed here.” Young is a great asset to both Centurion and LCMHF.
Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility is a 624-bed, multi-custody programming facility consisting of the Central Unit (medium/maximum custody) and South Unit (minimum custody).
