A brunch on May 22 at Central Plains High School recognized three individuals for their service to education and school system and were wished the best upon their retirements.

Lisa Menzer, head cook at Central Plains High School, was acknowledged for her 28 years of cooking and serving lunches to thousands of hungry junior and senior high students all her years were at Claflin.

Wayne and Terri DeWerff are the Ag Education instructor/FFA Advisor and the Family and Consumer Science instructor, respectively. Together, the two have given a lifetime to education, teaching a combined total of 78 years, a feat not often heard of today.

They were able to start their careers teaching at Plainville in the same school and were able to finish together as well at Central Plains.
