Azria Health Woodhaven celebrated the completion of remodeling and renovations of the Great Bend facility at 1560 K-96 by hosting the Jan. 23 Great Bend Chamber Coffee. Administrator Sunny Shipp was joined by Director of Nursing Candice Horner as they invited guests to learn more about the facility and its comprehensive rehabilitation therapy, specialized care and long-term care services.

A virtual tour of the remodeled facility can be seen on the website https://www.azriahealth.com/locations/azria-health-woodhaven/.

An area in the building that is vacant at present will soon be remodeled to make room for more residents, Shipp said. “The goal is for it to be assisted living.”

Azria Health Woodhaven was established in February of 2021, combining the Great Bend facility with another facility in Ellinwood. They recently partnered with the County Living facilities in Larned and Lyons, Shipp said. There are sister facilities in Wichita and Olathe, as well as six in Iowa “and we just purchased six more in Maryland, so we are growing rapidly.”

Horner said Woodhaven provides “as homelike as possible experiences for our residents.” Popular activities are playing cards and bingo, and everybody loves “Music and Movement,” she said.

The Great Bend facility has 101 employees with openings for two nurses, a Certified Nursing Assistant and a marketing director. It is licensed for 85 residents and the census on Thursday was 70 residents. They accept private and commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.
