Life lessons from a spunky Norwegian

There is an old adage that espouses that age is just a number, that says “you’re only as old as you feel.” To many, it’s a quaint cliché, but little more than that. To some, though, it’s a way of life.

I started pondering that this week, as my grandmother celebrated her 90th birthday last Sunday, and my grandfather approaches this same milestone. To me, they epitomize this state of mind.

Tribune is trekking and trudging along

For some time now, management at the Great Bend Tribune has encouraged employees to adopt healthier lifestyles.

In the 1980s, the publisher quit smoking and announced we would no longer be allowed to smoke in the building. We could, however, continue to smoke in the Tribune cars. One guy – who shall remain nameless – promptly asked if he could have a car in his office.
