He grew up in Claflin and graduated from Claflin High School in 1964. Ted was united in marriage to Kathey Oeser on April 1, 1965, in Claflin. This union was blessed with two children, Jeff and Lisa. BURDETT - Cecil Allen Coddington, 91, died Nov. 2 at his home in Emporia. Born May 22, 1919, in Cherokee, Okla., he was the son of Royal Earl and Gladys Rose Monroe Coddington. A lifetime resident of Alexander and Burdett, moving to Emporia in 2005, he was a retired farmer and self–employed electrician. On Aug. 3, 1942, he married Floy Louise Huddleston at Great Bend. She died on July 31, 2006.
Danny K. Crane, 62, of Great Bend, died Oct. 26 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. He was born Oct. 22, 1948, at Abilene, the son of Donald and Katheline (Barlow) Crane. He married Hazel Horner on Dec. 31, 1967, at Great Bend. He was publication editor for Lockheed Missiles in Space. Mr. Crane was a Great Bend resident since 1993, coming from Pleasanton, Calif.

HOISINGTON - Duane H. (Peaches) Popp, 70, died Nov. 2 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born Aug. 21, 1940, in Barton County, he was the son of Herman Theodore and Esther (Steinert) Popp. On July 21, 1963, he married Cheryl A. Lane in Hoisington. A lifetime resident of the Hoisington area, he was a farmer/rancher and worked for LD Davis Drilling, was a tool pusher for Revlin and a former custodian at Roosevelt School and Middle School.

McPHERSON - Jimmy Raybern, 44, died Nov. 1 at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. He was born May 31, 1966, at Great Bend, the son of Sam and Lora (Boatman) Raybern. He married CArla Scheuerman on June 12, 1993, at Great Bend. He worked for Mid States Supply, McPherson, as a warehouse foreman. He was a McPherson resident for seven years, coming from Great Bend.
PAWNEE ROCK - Shirley L. Arnel, 70, of Pawnee Rock, died Oct. 13 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Shirley L. Gabbert on Nov. 6, 1939, in Waco, Texas.
GLENMORA, La. - Champion Ray "Butch" McNett, 40, formerly of Great Bend, entered eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 24, at his Glenmora, La., residence. He was born June 17, 1970, in Salina, to the unionof Champion Fredrick McNett and Marie Alice McNett. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, coach and friend. He was one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys football fans. He loved coaching his sons in football and baseball. He also loved hunting, fishing, and car racing, and was a drummer at heart.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - William Harold Clark Sr., 86, passed away on Oct. 30 at Providence Medical Center. Born May 10, 1924, in Kansas City, he was the son of William R. and Lucy (Holmes) Clark. He married Theresa Kratofil on April 24, 1948, and they had three children. He was a machine operator at Westvaco, retiring in 1987,

ELLSWORTH - Carmen R. Munguia, 89, died Oct. 31 at Ellsworth County Medical Center, Ellsworth. She was born Oct. 8, 1921, at El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Edurado and Refugio (Jimeniz) Rousett. She married Ramon Munguia on May 1, 1948, at El Paso, Texas. He died June 1, 2008. A homemaker, she was an Ellsworth resident for the past seven years, coming from Lorraine.
GREENWOOD, Ark. - Jerry L. Hedrick, 73, of Greenwood, Ark., went home to be with his Lord, Oct. 29 in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. He was born May 17, 1937, in Coffeyville, and was a businessman and truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and feeding local wildlife.

SARASOTA, Fla. - Virginia Marie (Haberman) Peters, 75, died Nov. 13, in Sarasota, Fla. Born March 12, 1939, in rural Hoisington, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Koester) Haberman. In 1958, she married Tony Vanaman and later married Pete Peters.
ELLINWOOD - Edwin Leroy Stoppel, 86, passed away on Nov. 21, at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born June 16, 1928, in Wilson, he was the son of Chris and Clara (Hilgenberg) Stoppel. Edwin worked as a carpenter for most of his life, helping to build skyscrapers and other buildings all throughout Colorado.
ELLINWOOD - William David "Dave" Hayes, 71, passed peacefully on Nov. 24, in Wichita. Born Aug. 28 1943, he was the son of James Yingling and Helen Marie (Stiffler) Hayes. In 2003, he retired from McCrite Retirement Plaza in Topeka. He enjoyed fishing and fixing things that were mechanical.
HUTCHINSON - Bradley J. Van Winkle, 54, passed away peacefully on Nov. 22, at his residence. Born July 13, 1960, in Great Bend, he was the son of James J. and Kathryn (Reidel) Van Winkle. He was raised and received his education in Great Bend, graduating from Great Bend High School in 1979. Brad worked many years farming and more recently running heavy equipment. LARNED - Bernice S. Zook, 91, passed away Nov. 20, at Diversicare of Larned. She was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Stafford County, the daughter of Owen E. and Powerley Gilliland Smith. A lifetime area resident, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.

ELLINWOOD – Charles "Chuck" Frydendall, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Ellinwood on Nov. 17. Born Jan. 20, 1928, near Portis, Chuck was the oldest son of Milo and Bessie Frydendall.
ODIN - Anna M. Klug, 84, died Nov. 19 at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in Wichita. Born July 23, 1930, in Dubuque, she was the daughter of John and Regina (Schmidt) Werner. On June 4, 1947, she married Leo L. Klug, in Odin. He died on May 28, 1999. She was the postmaster at Odin. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was all about family. She loved gardening, playing games, and cooking for her family.
